Slooh’s Flagship Observatory

Situated at 7,739 ft on Mt. Teide in the Canary Islands, Spain, Slooh’s flagship observatory offers truly one of a kind public access to one of the world’s finest observatory sites, at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC), the largest research observatory in Europe and home of the world’s largest telescope. Slooh owns and operates two fully robotic observatories which have been in nightly operation since December 25th, 2003. Slooh signed a new multi-year extension with IAC in November of 2013 – pictured are Slooh founder Michael Paolucci and Professor Rafael Rebolo, Executive Director of the IAC, and Michael Paolucci presenting Slooh to King Felipe VI of Spain at the 30th Anniversary celebration of IAC which included the inauguration of Slooh’s telescopes on Mt Teide.
