On the night of 11th April 1785, William and Caroline Herschel enjoyed a “Night of Discovery”, which remains unrivaled to this day in the annals of visual astronomy. They swept the dark sky with their 20ft telescope on that amazing night, which resulted in the discovery of 74 galaxies, nebulae and clusters (the final tally of new discoveries was 70).

This Slooh member project sets out to replicate this amazing achievement using Slooh’s telescopes to image all 74 objects on the night of the 11th April 2015 – its 230th anniversary. Slooh will be having a live show in the clubhouse, bringing a live report of the imaging extravaganza, with real time views directly from the scopes!
